Iqama ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Iqama mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email address, and gender when you register.
• Location: city and country (and optionally GPS coordinates) to calculate accurate prayer times for your area.
• Prayer logs: the prayers you mark as prayed, used to calculate your league score.
• Profile picture: an optional photo you upload from your device's photo library.
• Device token: a Firebase Cloud Messaging token used to send prayer-time notifications.

2. Camera & Photo Library

The app requests camera access solely for the Qibla AR compass feature, which overlays a directional indicator on the camera view. No photos or video are captured or stored. Photo library access is requested only when you choose to set a profile picture.

3. Location

Location access is used exclusively to determine your city and country so we can calculate local prayer times. GPS coordinates are sent to our server only when you tap "Detect Location" and are not tracked continuously or in the background.

4. Notifications

We send local and push notifications to remind you of prayer times. You can disable these at any time from your device's notification settings or from within the app.

5. How We Use Your Information

• To calculate and display accurate prayer times.
• To track your prayer streak and league standings.
• To send prayer-time reminders and adhan notifications.
• To improve app performance via anonymised crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics).

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Firebase (Google): for push notifications, crash reporting, and analytics.
• Sentry: for anonymised error logging.

7. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

8. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are never stored in plain text. We follow industry-standard practices to protect your information.

9. Children's Privacy

Iqama is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page.
